The Tuntenhaus or "House of Queers" was originally a squat on Mainzer Str. in East Berlin. This gritty verité documentary follows the fortunes of the Tuntenhaus through the days of anarchy and riots that followed German reunification to the sudden invasion by 3000 West German police, armed with tanks and tear gas in a massive operation to evict them.

Thinking Twice features the pianist Katharina Wolpe playing music composed by her father Stefan Wolpe. Stefan Wolpe’s work is renowned for its originality and rigour, its sense of space and surprise. The unique and vital contribution of this important avant-garde composer continues to influence many young composers of today. The title is taken from a series of lectures given by Stefan Wolpe. In its lucid editing of piano keys in motion, and especially in close up shots of the pianist's hands and face, Jayne Parker "attempts to reflect the rigour of the music" (in her own words).

Blue Boys 1992

Blue Boys is a hard-news documentary which questions operations by the Police and Customs to smash so-called 'gay sex rings'. By talking to academic experts in the gay professions, and gay men who have come up against the law (including those convicted as part of the notorious 1990 sado-maochist 'Spanner' trial), the programme describes how the policing of pornography is fed by common prejudices against gay men and their culture. Blue Boys also looks at the relationships between Christian moral pressure groups, the government, and policing agencies (including the powerful Obscene Publications Squad of New Scotland Yard). It provides new evidence to challenge myths about the volume and violence of today's pornography and the dangers presented by it.
