“Lilo & Stitch” conta la trobada entre una nena i l'extraterrestre més buscat de la galàxia. La Lilo és una nena hawaiana que se sent sola i decideix adoptar un “gos” molt lleig que anomena Stitch. L'Stitch seria la mascota perfecta si en realitat no fos un experiment genètic que ha escapat d'un planeta alienígena i ha aterrat a la Terra per casualitat. Amb el seu amor i la seva indestructible fe en l'“ohana” (el concepte hawaià de la família), la Lilo acaba conquerint el cor de l'Stitch i li ofereix una cosa que aquest ésser estrany no havia pensat mai a tenir: una llar.

Rumb a un remot planeta a l'altra banda de la galàxia, la tripulació de la nau colonial Covenant descobreix el que creuen que és un paradís inexplorat, però resulta tractar-se d'un món fosc i hostil l'únic habitant del qual és un "sintètic" anomenat David (Michael Fassbender), supervivent de la malaguanyada expedició Prometheus. Un dia el món es paralitza quan un grup de viatgers en el temps es transporta des de l'any 2051 per lliurar un missatge urgent: La humanitat està perdent la guerra mundial contra una espècie alienígena letal.
