Simba és el fill del rei dels lleons, Mufasa, i hereu de tot el regne. Però quan el seu pare és brutalment assassinat pel seu oncle Scar, decidirà fugir, deixant via lliure perquè el seu oncle prengui el lloc del seu pare com a líder del ramat.
