Seetharam is in love with Kalyani and wants to propose to her. However, when two lovers, Akhila and Akash, play a prank on Seetharam that results in him losing Kalyani, he takes revenge on them.

Siva (Ramki) is a happy-go-lucky, good natured guy who goes out of his way to help people. He and his friend Kumar (Senthil) are on the look out for a job when they come across the rich and spoilt girl Usha (Pallavi). The first meeting itself sets off sparks and Siva and Usha have a clash. Usha goes out of her way to insult Siva but during a time of danger, it is Siva who comes to her rescue. The bitter rivalry, soon turns into a budding love. However, Usha's rich father will have none of this and decides to do away with Siva. Watch what happens next forms the crux of the story

Kuppan stays at his uncle Mannangatti's house who has three daughters and one son. When Mannangatti decides to get his children married, one of his daughters marries Kuppan secretly.

Paramasivan has two sons : Subramani and Ganesan. Ganesan, the eldest, gets married with Segamalam. In the meantime, Subramani and Segamalam's sister Parimala fall in love with each other, even if they are from different villages. Since that day, Sorna wanted to take revenge. Raja and Indhu are distraught, Sorna only wanted to punish Kai Ezhuthu Gounder and Kai Naattu Gounder but not the young lovers, so she comes to their rescue. What transpires later forms the crux of the story.
