Besieged by cancer and nearing the end, the genius Argentine-Brazilian filmmaker Héctor Babenco (1946-2016) asks Bárbara Paz, his wife, for one last wish: to be the protagonist of his own death.

Stela is twelve years old and only believes in what she can see, or not at all. Miguel, the youngest brother, believes in everything, especially in what doesn't exist. Two years after the tragic dive that killed their mother, they return to the mythical city of Paraty, where nothing is what it seems.
