يحكي الفيلم قصة زوجين مطلقين يحاولان تربية ابنهما الصغير. تتبع القصة الصبي لمدة اثني عشر عامًا ، من الصف الأول في سن 6 حتى الصف 12th في سن 17-18 ، وتتفحص علاقته بوالديه أثناء نموه.

تتعرف فتاة صغيرة منهمكة في عالمها الخاص على طيار مسن غريب الأطوار، والذي يقوم بدوره بتعريفها على عالمه الخيالي، والذي كان بطله الأمير الصغير الذي يكتشف ذاته من جديد في رحلته بين الكواكب القاحلة، ومع سرد الطيار للقصة التي يتركز حولها الكتاب، تبدأ الفتاة في إعادة اكتشاف طفولتها .

تدور احداث القصة في طوكيو عن فتاة جامعية تدعى هانا تقع في حب رجل مستذئب وتنجب منه طفلين، ابنتها تدعى يوكي وابنها أصغر من اخته بسنة أسمه آمي، يقتل والدهم في حادث اثناء صيد الطعام لأولاده، وتعيش هانا حياة صعبة في تربية أولادها.

الكلب بيبودي هو في الحقيقة شخصية جبارة ومخترع وعالم وفائز بميداليتين أولمبيتين وعبقري. باستخدام أحدث اختراعته العبقرية سيسافر هو وشيرمان ابنه بالتبني إلى الوراء عبر الزمن. يقابلا في رحلتهما أعظم الشخصيات التاريخية التي عرفها العالم. ولكن يقوما بخرق قواعد السفر عبر الزمن، وعليهما الأن الصراع مع الوقت من أجل إصلاح ما قاما بإفساده وإلا سيدفعا ثمن أخطائهما هما والعالم كله.

عندما تجد تينكر بيل نفسها محاصرة فى بيت، تصادق طفلة صغيرة تؤمن بالجنيات بينما تبذل الجنيات الأخرى قصارى جهدها لإنقاذها.

تدور أحداث الفيلم حول كلب الشيبرد بايلي الذي يعيش مع مالكيه إيثان وهانا في منزلهما، ويحاول أن يجد معنى لوجوده من خلال حياة البشر الذين قابلهم وعاش معهم.
