فيلم مستوحى من أحداث حقيقية عن أحد أشهر اللصوص غير العنيفين في "فرنسا"، "برونو" سولاك، في ثمانينيات القرن العشرين. قاد العديد من عمليات السرقة، ثم لفت الانتباه العام بسبب هروبه الجريء مرات عديدة من حجز الشرطة، ودائماً ليلتقي بحبيبته وشريكته المحبوبة "آني"، وقد أصبح العدو الأول للشعب في "فرنسا" ورمزاً للحرية.
