يقع حادث عائلي مأساوي، يتسبب في اجتماع ثلاثة أجيال من عائلة (ديتز) للمنزل العائلي في وينتر ريفر والذي يحرسه الشبح (بيتلجوس)، وسرعان ما يقع حادث يتسبب في فتح بوابة العالم الآخر وتنقلب الأمور.

تدور أحداث الفيلم حول زوجين سعيدين يتعرضان لحادث سيارة قاتل وينجوان منه ويعودان إلى منزلهما، ويكتشفان أنهما شبحان، وبعد فترة يُباع منزلهما ويقرران إخافة الملاك الجدد من دون جدوى، فيقرران استقدام شبح أقوى يعمل كطارد للبشر، إلا أن هذا الشبح يكون له أهداف أخرى غير التي استقدم لها.

يتناول الفيلم الفصل الأخير، حيث يتمكن مصاصو الدماء من استعادة القوات الأصلية لخلق أنواع جديدة من الكائنات النصف مخلًّقة بواسطة (اليكساندر كورفينوس). أما عن (مايكل) فهو يستعيد ذكرياته ويبحث عن (سيلين) وابنته في محاولة لعيش البشر والمخلوقات الجديدة في سلام من جديد.

تدور أحداثه حول الصراع الدموي بين تجار الموت (مصاصي الدماء) وعبيدهم الليكانز (المستذئبين)، والذين يوحدون صفوفهم بقيادة أحد شباب الليكانز (لوسيان) من أجل الانتقام من قائد مصاصي الدماء، والذي تقع ابنته في حب عدوه لوسيان، وتنجح في إخفاء تلك العلاقة حتى تنضم بالفعل لتلك الحرب الدامية، لكنها تكون إلى جانب الشاب الذي صار قائدا في الحرب ضد والدها.

في Knockemstiff ، أوهايو والغابات الخلفية المجاورة لها ، تلتقي الشخصيات الشريرة حول الشاب أرفين راسل بينما يحارب قوى الشر التي تهدده هو وعائلته.

تعرض أحداث الفيلم الحرب بين مصاصي الدماء والمذؤوبين، حيث يعود إلى بدايات الخلاف القديم بين القبيلتين: (سيلين) مصاصة الدماء الجميلة و(مايكل) الذئب الهجين، في محاولة لكشف أسرار أسلافهما، حيث سيكون هذا العمل حكاية جديدة عن التآمر والحب المحرم، والتي تأخذهما إلى معركة لإنهاء كل الحروب.
