خلال عشية عيد الميلاد الهادئة بمقاطعة مايلز، ينطلق المهرج أرت في رحلة دموية جديدة، وينشر الفوضى والذعر في نفوس السكان مع توالي جرائمه السادية.

يستكشف العمل بدايات نهاية العالم، بظهور مخلوقات مفترسة، وكيف أصبح على البشر العيش في هدوء تام ليتمكنوا من تفادي تلك المخلوقات المميتة، وتتوالى الأحداث.

تدور أحداث الفيلم عن مدينة للوحوش. شركة المرعبين المحدودة هي شركة توليد الطاقة للمدينة، والتي تستعمل كمصدر للطاقة صراخ الأطفال، لهذا يحاولون تخويفهم. وفي محاولة أحد الموظفين (راندل) بالاتفاق مع مدير الشركة أبو عنكبوت لتوفير الطاقة والتي أصبحت الشركة تعانى من قلتها بسبب عدم خوف الاطفال من المخوفاتيه يقوم هذا الموظف باختراع جهاز مهمته أن يأخذ الصراخ من الأطفال بالقوه. يكتشف شلبى سلوفان عن وجود باب بعد ساعات العمل، ومن هذا الباب تدخل طفله إلى مدينة المرعبيين. وهنا تبدأ الأحداث حيث يسعى شلبى سلوفان وماردوشوشنى إلى إعادة الطفلة إلى بيتها في ظل مطاردة من اندل للقبض على الطفلة وتجربة الجهاز عليها. أثناء هذه المطاردة يكتشفون ان مدير الشركة أبو عنكبوت مشترك في هذه الجريمة. وبعد عدة أحداث يتم القبض على أبو عنكبوت ويتم نفى اندل إلى عالم البشر. كما يكتشفون مصدر جديد للطاقة بدلا من تخويف وهو الضحك. ويستلم شلبى سلوفان إدارة الشركة والتي تعود للنمو من جديد.

تدور احداث فيلم حول في عالم آلهة اﻷولمب، تُسرق الصاعقة، ويتهم (زيوس) ابن (بوسيدون) بسرقتها، مانحًا إياه 14 يومًا ﻹعادة الصاعقة، أو ستكون هناك حرب ضروس بين اﻵلهة، ويدخل الطالب (بيرسي جاكسون) في آتون هذه اﻷحداث حينما يكتشف أنه سليل ﻷحد آلهة الأولمب، وعليه إيجاد حل لتسكين حالة الحرب التي تهدد الأولمب.

قصة الفيلم: يعود بنا الفيلم إلى أيام الجامعة عندما كان مايك وازوسكي (صوت بيللي كريستال) وحشاً صغيراً يحلم بأنيصبح مخيفاً، خاصة وهو يعتقد أنه أفضل مخيف في جامعة الوحوش، ولكن خلال الفصل الدراسي الأول له في الجامعة،تتغير خطط مايك بعد أن التقى بالبارع جيمس بي سوليفان (صوت جون جودمان) الذي وُلد مخيفاً بشكل طبيعي،التنافس بين الاثنين يخرج عن السيطرة ويكون السبب في طردهما من جامعة النخبة المرعبة، وتصبح الأمورأسوأ عندما يُضطران إلى العمل معاً، جنباً إلى جنب مع مجموعة غريبة من الوحوش الماهرة.

يعاني (كونر) بشكل مستمر في المدرسة وفي المنزل، خاصة مع وجود أم مريضة في المنزل، فيكافح (كونر) من أجل التغلب على شعوره بالذنب والغضب ومواجهة من يقوم بالاعتداء عليه من أقرانه، لكنه يواجه مشكلة أكبر وهي القدرة على إخبار الحقيقة والاعتراف بالمشكلات، وهنا يبرز وحش متنكر في شكل شجرة ويصير صديقًا له.

تدور أحداث الفيلم في إطار من المغامرات حول نيزك من الفضاء الخارجي يضرب امرأة من كاليفورنيا تدعى (سوزان ميرفي)، مما يحولها إلى وحش عملاق، وتعتقلها الحكومة وتسجنها في مكان سري يضم أشخاصَا مثلها ممن وقعت لهم حوادث مماثلة في السابق، وعندما يصل مخلوق فضائي غريب الى كوكب الارض من أجل غزو العالم، يعرض الرئيس (هاثاواي) على هؤلاء الأشخاص حريتهم في مقابل التغلب على هذا المخلوق الفضائي.
