يروي هذا الفيلم سيرة حياة " تشيكو " اليابانية والتي كانت تعيش في منطقة كورية واقعة تحت الاحتلال الياباني، هذه الفتاة التي عاشت طفولة استثنائية عنوانها الخوف و التشرد. كانت "تشيكو" تعيش حياة فارهة مع عائلتها وينعمون بالهناء و السعادة، إلى أن اندلعت الحرب و بدأت تتقدم شيئا فشيئا وأخذت تسلب من " تشيكو " ما هو غال على قلبها، فأخذت والدها الذي تم استدعاؤه ليقاتل في الجبهة مع صفوف جيشهم الوطني، وابتليت بعدها بوفاة أختها الصغيرة وافترقت عن صديقيتها الحبيبة " أوهانا ". و لم يقف الأمر عند هذا الحد، حيث تقدمت فلول الأعداء و حاصرت مدينتهم فاضطرت هي و من يعيش معها للهجرة متوجهين إلى المدينة التي تتمركز فيها المقاومة، وهم يقاسون معاناة طول المسافة وطريقها الوعرة وخطر فتك الأعداء بهم

A detachment of young fighters of the Russian Army breaks away from the main formation during a march, in order to shorten the path, runs across, but gets into a fog that takes him back to the past, during the Great Patriotic War. The guys who saw the war only in the movies fall into the clutches of the ruthless events of that time. Everything is on the edge: bravery, fear, love, hate, life, death. And there's no time to ask questions. Live, fight for the Motherland – it is one for all time.

In June 1941, Hitler decides to break the German-Soviet pact and set the German army in motion toward Moscow. From summer to winter, and from Kiev to Leningrad, previously unseen archival footage, some recolored, retraces the bloodiest military operation of World War II. Testimonies from soldiers and civilians recount these endless months of battles and sieges.
