مستر (فوكس) يهوى المغامرات يهوي مطاردة الدجاج والديوك الرومي وسرقتها. حينما يتم القبض عليه هو وزوجته في أثناء محاولته سرقة إحدى المزارع، يعد زوجته بأن يتوقف عن السرقة، ويبحث عن وظيفة أخرى. بعد عامين ينتقل هو وعائلته للإقامة بجوار شجرة بالقرب من منشأة يديرها المزارعون الأشرار (والتر وناثينال وفرانكلين). يحاول المزارعون التخلص من عائلة فوكس فيقرر التصدي لهم.
